Syphilis is a curable sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium
Treponema pallidum (TP). The route of transmission of syphilis is almost always
by sexual contact. It may also be transmitted from mother to baby during pregnancy
or at birth (congenital syphilis).
The symptoms vary from painless, non-itchy skin ulceration to multiple sores on the
palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and spread even to mouth and vagina.
MZ True-Scan™ Syphilis/TP is a solid phase in vitro immuno-chromatographic assay
for the qualitative detection of antibodies of all isotypes (IgG, IgM, IgA) against
Treponema pallidum (TP) in human serum, plasma or whole blood.
