A. Purpose
Medzome Malaria Antigen (P.f./P.v.) test is a rapid, qualitative test for detection of HRP-II (Histidine-rich protein-II) specific to Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium lactate dehydogenase (pLDH) specific to Plasmodium vivax.
Advantages
- Differential diagnosis between Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax.
- Differentiate P.falciparum mono infection from Plasmodium falciparum/Plasmodium vivax co-infection.
- Shelf life and storage temperature : 24 months at 1-30°C
- Performance:
-P.f. (HRP-II): Sensitivity-99.7%, Specificity – 99.5%
-P.v. (pLDH) : Sensitivity-95.5%, Specificity – 99.5%
